A deaf dog who spent 11 years sleeping rough found a nice porch to take a nap in, and the move completely changed his life.

When the owner of the house found this poor dog, she named him «Solovino,» which means «he came alone» in Spanish. However, she did not take him in; instead, she sent him to the kennel, from where various families adopted him. Not just one or two families, but several. Unfortunately, after some time, each family gave him up – Solovino was too problematic and old.

But one day, Carol Messina saw a photo of Solovino on the internet, read his story, and realized she wanted to take him in. Carol, a Star Wars fan, found it amusing that the dog’s name resembled that of Han Solo, a main character from the classics. «He was very sad and sort of lifeless,» Carol recalls, «but I immediately knew he would stay with me no matter what.»

When Solo first arrived at Carol’s, he sat with his tail between his legs, ate very little, and constantly shook whenever someone tried to pet him. Solo had rotten teeth that caused him pain and he also suffered from hearing impairment. Carol patiently addressed all of his issues.

She would turn on the light before entering the room where Solo was, so he wouldn’t be scared. She took care of his teeth and showered him with love. Gradually, Solo transformed into a completely different animal.
